Minister Luther Young, Jr.
Youth Day Speaker

Luther Young, Jr. was born in Beaufort, South Carolina to Luther, Sr. and Terry Young. He attended Beaufort County Public Schools and graduated from Battery Creek High School. At an early age, Luther developed a strong passion for music. He sang in the children's choir until he began playing drums at age 7, violin at age 9, saxophone at age 10, and piano at age 13.

While in high school Luther participated in and conducted various instrumental and vocal ensembles, and also performed in several theater productions. At this time, Luther began to develop teaching and leadership skills, occasionally teaching music at his home church, Friendship Holiness Church in Stuart Point, SC, and Lighthouse Christian Center in Beaufort.

Luther moved to Nashville in 2009 to start his education at Belmont University, where he graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering Technology. Within weeks of relocation he became a musician at Walking In Faith International Worship Center (formerly known as Walking In Faith Spiritual Church), where he is the current Director of Media. Luther also serves as a Music Ministry staff member at First Baptist Church South Inglewood.

Luther continues to write, produce and perform music to inspire the hearts of people around the globe. But more importantly is answering the call of ministry. Luther was first licensed to ministry in 2011, and is licensed by the Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc. International College of Bishops. He currently serves as the Spiritual Advisor for the WIFI Youth Department where he seeks to inspire and educate young people and provide a light that brightens the path to Christ.
